The HP 2133 Mini-Note PC provides mobile professionals a sleek, lightweight device that provides access to information, the ability to collaborate with others, as well as communicate via e-mail, IM, or even blogging. The HP 2133 Mini-Note comes installed with Vista Business and while hardly dog-slow, it was no speed demon, either. The HP 2133 Mini-Note might be just the thing to meet that need. It weighs in at 1.19 kilograms (2.63 pounds), has an adequate 9-inch display and sports a keyboard that’s 92% full size.

All will feature an 8.9-inch WXGA display (1280×768 resolution), a spill-proof QWERTY keyboard that is nearly full-size (only about 8 percent than those of full-sized notebooks), Wi-Fi, USB ports, an Express card slot, and a anodized aluminum shell. The HP 2133 Mini-Note is a full-function mini-notebook, starting at less than $500, and according to HP is designed for the education market. The HP 2133 Mini-Note laptop comes with an attractive package that is a combination of a low price tag and almost all the basic features of a standard laptop. This mini-laptop includes most of the basic functions a typical laptop offers.

The HP 2133 Mini-Note PC is mainly tailored towards business professionals who want the freedom to work anywhere without having to carry around heavy piece of equipment or something that is bulky. With the ability to stay connected anywhere and its sturdy all-aluminum case this laptop makes a perfect traveling partner for the business person who’s constantly on the go.

Compared to most laptops in this price range, the 2133 looks like it should cost a good deal more, with a solid brushed aluminium lid and a magnesium-alloy chassis. The system weighs a bit less than 1.5kg, but due to its small size, feels heavier than you would expect. Compared to the screens on other subnotebooks priced below $1,000, the screen on the HP 2133 Mini-Note is beyond beautiful. Most notebooks that we review (regardless of size or price) would be lucky to have a screen like this. Compared with most laptops in this price range, the 2133 looks as if it should cost a good deal more, with a solid brushed aluminum lid and a magnesium-alloy chassis. The system weighs a bit less than three pounds, but due to its small size, feels heavier than you would expect.
