Philips Xenium X800

Earlier last week, Philips officialy announced the release of its newest e2e ( edge to edge) touchscreen smartphone called Xenium X800. Boasting its full e2e touch screen design, this phone seems like another iPhone wannabe.
The X800 features a large 2.9-inch touch screen with 262k colors and resolution of 240 x 400 pixels. Other notable features include a 2-megapixel auto-focus camera, microSD slot, and Bluetooth. It is reported that the Philips X800 will run the new platform, developed by Philips. Among the characteristics mentioned phone support for Office documents, extensive multimedia capabilities, camera, FM-radio, Bluetooth and WiFi.
If this phone is real, much will depend on how well the touchscreen works and how well the touch UI is implemented. Which is no easy feat, as many iPhone wannabe’s can attest. Unfortunately as of this writing, the X800 release is only limited in China only. Looks like the only way to get it is to wait until they sell it on Ali Baba, China’s very own Ebay.
