Things To Check When Deciding On Gaming Laptops

without comments

Nowadays, more and more gaming laptops are being manufactured by various laptop manufacturers. Gone are the days when gamers only relied on high-end desktop computers. Laptops which were once stereotyped solely for business people are also things of the past. With today’s constantly developing technology, those bulky and big gaming desktop computers can all have the same specifications and capabilities of laptops especially made for gaming.

When finding that perfect gaming laptop, make sure you consider looking at the following points.

Video Memory

Perhaps the most important part of such laptops are the graphics or video memory cards. There are a number of video cards specifically designed for installation inside laptops and can handle the demands of modern games nowadays. There are even laptops which can have up to two video cards: one for physics and the other for the graphics. Make sure that you would be buying a laptop with dedicated video memory, and not shared. Shared video memories mean that it gets from your system’s RAM.

System Memory

Games nowadays get so demanding, that they eat too much memory. Most gaming laptops available have a minimum of 2GB of RAM, but others may have up a whopping 8 GB of RAM. And yes, the higher your memory is, the better your laptop’s performance would be, and the faster it can run applications and games, as well.

Processor

If you are confused if you should get a dual core or a quad core processor, then always keep in mind that more is better. The higher GHz your processor has, the better it would run high-end games. Dual cores have two processors working at the same time, while quads have four. If unsure, get the highest possible processor within your budget – be it quad core or dual core.

Hard Drive

Games can really consume a lot of hard drive space, so if 80 GB before is enough, it won’t be enough for the next coming games. Most gaming laptops nowadays have around 250 GB, but others prefer putting up to 1 TB of space in their monster laptops, future proofing against the new generation of games.

Screen Size

Who wants to play in a small screen? Gaming laptops nowadays have typical 15. 4″ screens, but others prefer 18″ to make sure that they get the best graphics that they can. There are even some displays which are able to display full high definition graphics, so that is also something to consider when you decide on getting your very own gaming laptop.
